The Underground as it was when I was a child. Looking at those pics brings back so many memories, and that feeling of fascination that I had. I still love the Underground now, but there is something missing compared to back then. Perhaps it's all so clinical now, or maybe it's just nostalgia, going back to my particular era.

The Underground as it was when I was a child. Looking at those pics brings back so many memories, and that feeling of fascination that I had. I still love the Underground now, but there is something missing compared to back then. Perhaps it's all so clinical now, or maybe it's just nostalgia, going back to my particular era. The Underground had a certain smell to it then, and these pics bring it right back, I was talking about this sort of thing with a mate of mine recently ST, specifically how we (we're now both 50 for reference) believe we remember things from our youth with an increasing level of detachment from our actual feelings and perception at the time. In other words, the older we get the more we wish for a past that may not have been the comfort zone we now miss. Having similar thoughts as you having looked at the historical pictures I would however substitute the words "substantially cleaner" for "so clinical"!
