This is meant to be a question not a quiz. When and where did the last hand-operated door stock work on LT? I have two figures, three years apart, and wonder if anyone has the definitive answer.

What are the two dates you have, Phil? I'd guess that hand woked (sliding) door stock must have gone by the second half of the fifties.
EDIT: The skeleton posted the above reply whilst I was typing mine!

The date that I have and believe is 1953, last use on Olympias, but I have another book which suggests (rather than states) that some persisted till about 1955 on the ELL.
Edit: wrong way round. strong source is 1953 ELL,other source goes to 1955 on Olympias.
And the original question did mean to refer to sliders not slammers

Of course 2001 with the 4TC for Steam on the Met . If we are going down that route we should also include cab end doors which are still available for the public to use in an emergency.
