Quite poorly compiled that list, using very obscure and even incorrect place names! Number 5 is a road part of Heathrow Airport! Number 9 is Hyde Park. Number 11 is Marble Arch. Number 19 is Wood Green Shopping City. Number 23 is Bullring Shopping Centre in Birmingham. And where on earth is "LONDON BORO"?! Here is the list:

This list relies on all crimes being reported, which we know they are not. Many of these places (nightclubs, supermarkets, airports) have police and security immediately available for crimes to be noted and reported. The biggest hot spots are areas where there is little trust in the police to do anything and thusly nothing gets reported. These areas are also areas where insurance isn't taken out because the cost is too expense: A home without insurance is 3 times more likely to be broken into. Of course this has nothing to do with the fact that it has no insurance, but is in a deprived area where insurance is a luxury. One of the main reasons burglary gets reported is that you need a crime number to make an insurance claim. There maybe anomalies in that list as well: Take one of the roads, for example. The road itself to an average resident might be no problem, but sadly one address might suffer from domestic violence or anti social behaviour making it a 'crime hot spot'.

It would appear that the "Higher Educational Building" referred to as No. 11 is Albemarle Private Sixth Form College, Dunraven Street, Mayfair (Headmaster I. S. Fagin, MA? ) No. 19 Oxford Street, City of Westminster, London, W1H 6HB is Selfridges No. 37. Supermarket, Ripple Road, Dagenham, London Boro, RM9 6YA is a bit odd. For starters RM9 6YA is Burdetts Road not Ripple Road and there isn't a supermarket at that postcode. There's an ASDA nearby although the postcode for that is RM9 6JS and its address is Merrielands Crescen No.39 Great Russell Street, Camden, London, WC1B 3PA is outside the front of the British Museum. Also no.39 the Nightclub, Camden High Street, Camden, London, NW1 8QP is The Electric Ballroom Another no.39 Supermarket, Tottenham Court Road, City of Westminster, London, W1D 1AT. The postcode is Oxford Street not TCR, specifically Primark 14-28 Oxford St. So the crimes are shoplifting and pickpocketing with a bit of drunk & disorderly and Class B possession. I've been to all of those postcodes plus Meridian Square in Stratford on numerous occasions and never once been the victim of a crime although I have witnessed and even committed a few myself at NW1 8QP. Indeed some of the bands I saw there were truly criminal As Hassaan says, a poorly compiled list.

Great to see my hometown up there! Taunton's crime-ridden Naughty word status confirmed! Think your original description of Taunton fell foul of our swear filter! Just for info, the unlocking of this old thread was requested by trt who I daresay has an update to post.
