One for the more senior members and Harsig with his track plans: Was there a signal between WM20.21 at Hanger Lane Junc and WP17, the Ealing Bdy Home? (Excluding RWP17 of course.) I've got a collection of slides at home, and one of them shows what looks like the A406 bridge over the district with a signal in the pic. I can't clearly see the number plate though, and was just wondering if anyone could shed some light...

Yes there was. But I can't recall wether it was a stop or repeater. But yes, after you had come over the junction and round the corner there was definitly a signal before the road overbridge. (with an FR underneath it IIRC)

According to my 1974 diagram the only signal between WM20/21 (Hanger Lane Jnc Home signal) and RWP17 (the station home signal repeater) is a "T" sign (Termination of Speed Restriction) just before the Hanger Lane road bridge.

You may well be right about that PP. I certainly remember a signal before the road overbridge and two after it. One of the two had the platform harbour lights on it. But there were most certainly THREE signals between Hanger lane bridge and the platforms

I have just remembered that the signal in question (now gone) can be seen quite clearly on the video "Q stock remembered". It was near enough adjacent to the 'T' sign on the westbound before the road overbridge. This 'T' sign was nearer to the junction than it is today. It was a repeater. In those days the home signal for the Broadway with the harbour lights was much closer to the station.
I am not sure that you could not get two trains between Hanger Lane Junction at the last home for the Broadway either. Concentrating really hard I have a vague recollection that there was a stop signal hard up agianst the road over bridge which is what the first repeater was for.

Mystery signal:
WB into Ealing Bdy as resignalled 1952.
WM20/21 (Hanger Lane Jn)
RWP16 - this is the signal you are trying to ID
WP16/RWP17 - WP16 now removed leaving just the repeater.
WP17.
Hope this helps.

Interesting - I guess WP16 was removed when WP17 was moved back from its original location near the first set of points.
