He was invited as the member of parliament...
To be fair his speech wasn't a political party broadcast... and was about his experience of living in the area around the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway when the railway children was filmed...

No MPs they are all on gardening leave until after the election on 7 May.

No MPs they are all on gardening leave until after the election on 7 May. No, there's nothing to be on leave from or be a member of: Parliament was dissolved on March 30th. Pickles is still a Minister of State however, as the Government continues in office until the PM resigns.
