Another story to show how things have changed on LT/LUL in the past 30 years.
Back in '74 I transferred toHainault Depot fom Ricky Sdgs,at Hainault there was a cleaning foreman who I'll call Trigger,now Trigger was not known for his tact and diplomacy and had political leanings somewhere to the right of Atilla the Hun.The chargehand cleaner on the opposite shift to me was a big black guy called Mac.One morning as our shift were preparing to go home,the door to the workshops opened and Trigger came staggering up 64rd with blood pouring from a head wound.When asked what happened he said that F**king Mac all I said to him was he wasn't getting any overtime this Saturday and he put a chair across my head!Knowing Trigger I would bet he didn't just say "sorry no overtime this week"Anyway the upshot was Mac was suspended and taken to court for assault for which he got a suspended sentence.Was he sacked?Was he hell,all that happened was that he got transferred to LT Advertising as a bill poster where as far as I know he stayed till he retired.
