After a faulty train at Neasden at around 2pm why has the service come so rapidly to a stand? Officially there are "severe delays" on the rest of the line even through trains aren't running. My question is why couldn't they keep some form of a service running between Stratford and Willesden Green/West Hampstead and why when there are such serious issues how do they get away with saying severe delays rather than Suspended.

In theory they should be able to run a service on the rest of the line by reversing trains at Willesden Green and West Hampstead. However, there may be long delays due to trains being held up because of no drivers available, or delays caused by overcrowding on the platforms. What they don't seem to do quickly enough these days is thin out the service by stabling trains - in these situations, fewer trains would actually mean a better service, as there wouldn't be the chronic bunching caused by reversing too many trains at locations with only one siding. It's probably due to performance targets - the more trains that are in service, the better it looks. It's quite irrelevant if none of the trains are actually moving! Severe delays does, however, mean what it says. As people on here will know, I'm not a fan of these service messages, but when there are severe delays, the advice is to seek other routes. I'm also wondering what the issue with the train is - it has been a lengthy suspension. EDIT: why haven't they implemented a special service? By looking at the live info, the trains are still showing regular Jubilee train numbers.

I got to Waterloo about 2030 to find the message change from "severe delays" to "miner delays", yet there was about 15 minutes until the nest train!
Departure board at 2030: Stratford 14 mins Stratford 16 mins North Greenwich 18 mins Stratford 26 mins
I probably did the right thing by taking the Northern Line to Embankment and Circle Line to Tower Hill in order to access the DLR, instead of remaining with the Jubilee Line to Canning Town.

The service across the whole line was a complete joke! there were trains "approaching" stations for hours and departure boards remaining the same for hours and yet they still say "Severe Delays". Anyone know the reason for why the faulty train took so long to fix.

Evenin'' Just had a very quick word with a pal of mine from the Jubilee and he told me that the root of the delay was found to be that the offending train was minus a 'compliment' of shoes' Six were apparently discovered by 21/22 points!

The train lost its shoes because a juice rail was very badly installed the previous night.

The juice rail must have worked loose going by the time of the stalled train. Was there many other trains that had lost shoes?

The juice rail must have worked loose going by the time of the stalled train. Was there many other trains that had lost shoes? I believe the train had just exited Neasden depot (following an earlier service suspension at Willesden Green) and had passed through a crossover (No. 21) that no other train had used that day. It was in the middle of this crossover that the train encountered the errant conductor rail.
