Great footage, brings back some memories for me. Taken at different dates - some of the later scenes show the original Ongar signal box. At Epping the water tower can also be seen. Both demolished, together with the Ongar goods shed, in the late 1980s.

Nice clip - shame there was no news based commentary.
What was interesting was that people were using the service - not in vast numbers but, of course, the early 1980s were a dire time for LT ridership. I wonder what would have happened if it had been able to hang on for 5 years by which time patronage was breaking previous records. I appreciate there were issues with the line modernisation and the state of the tracks east of Epping but even so.
