I have just received a photo from a relative showing a 1972 Stock Carriage being hauled today by a lorry from Acton Depot/Acton Town area. It is a DM Unit 3533. Any ideas where it is going? Got some images below...

This move is taken 3 cars Stonebridge Park to Acton 3533 Unit, I think the 4 Car 3237 Unit at Acton was returning to Stonebridge Park as part of the moves this weekend.

What would be the benefit of getting them on to the Jubilee Line. How would they get to Acton from there?

Loading gauge can be a problem at times as well.

The Jubilee line is the only way off of the Bakerloo line by rail, unless you're going to run them along Network Rail's metals and, as discussed in the other thread, that's not really an option either. There are a number of ways to Acton from the Jub. My preference, I suspect, would be to gain the Met at Wembley Park or Neasden and run to Rayners Lane. Then it's simply down the Picc to Acton Town. Another option is to run down the Met to Baker and then along the Circle to High Street and the District to Acton Town.

How about using the Oveground to Willesden Jct High Level reverse and onto Gunnesbury reverse and then to Turnham Geen reverse again and onto Acton all done after normal services have ended in this lines?

I was just going to ask that very question myself, but isn't the NLL electrified on 25 kV AC overhead electification for part of that route? So that'd mean finding locos to drag them, I suppose, and I dunno what the situation is regarding track access - it is a busy freight line - or loading gauge. In the end, as bigvern says, it becomes harder and harder to make a case for going by rail.

That would require two separate accesses to National Rail metals, which I would imagine to be hard to organise. It's also unlikely to be achievable in the few hours of no service. Perhaps with an overnight stabling in a siding somewhere, but that's not a given either. Edit: Thinking about it, maybe the link between low-level and high-level would be considered part of the high-level to Willesden Junction access? Still going to require co-ordination that's perhaps hard to achieve.

Loading gauge can be a problem at times as well. 72TS (and indeed it's direct predecessor 67TS) are the last 'go anywhere gauge' trains built for LU, so will not be a problem. Regards, Dan

few quick questions:
1. Why are they not installing exterior dmis on the front of the train like was done on and being done again the 73ts, i would have thought that this would help cover their age as they will be the only ones to still use blinds?
2. Will the new seat covers be the same as the new northern and jubilee line ones?
3. Do you have a pic of the new blind displaying harrow and wealdstone?

3. Do you have a pic of the new blind displaying harrow and wealdstone? No. I'm on Nights this week so should be able to get one at some stage, but can tell you on the blinds it's "Harrow & W'stone". As to the rest I've got no idea, sorry. Actually do have one, but not as good as the rest.

that is a massive improvement to the current blind. The old style writing is now gone.
When new stock does arrive the contrast between the two will be superb
