Are there special arrangements for the District line service to/from Olympia from Platforms 3 and 4 at High Street Kensington? What are they, how do they work and what modifications will need to be done to the lights, platform and points to fully permit S stock to work the line after D Stock withdrawal?
My interest was initially sparked by talking to a driver who stated they had to drive S stock manually in and out of Olympia, as things didn't work there.
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, S stock should be cleared for both of those stations. They were running to olympia as part of the training run, and have operated in the bays at High Street Ken before now. Seeing as there isn't any track that is used solely by the shuttle, it should just be able to run. I am intrigued by this talk of driving them in manually, AFAIK, they are all being driven manually at the moment, and will be until the SSL upgrade, unless he is talking about the door operation, but I wouldn't expect this to be the case. Maybe he is referring to the signalling system, whereby the train has to be manually signalled to go to olympia.

No the signalling does not know if its a S or D stock it only sees the train number and train description. Remember S stocks go to Olympia when they come in and out of Lillie Bridge Depot via Olympia. The only special arrangement for the S stocks on the District is that at Hanger Lane Junction the route to North Ealing is prohibited due to compatibility issues. There is a special measurement system which detects a 73 stock and thus the route to North Ealing clears anything else and the train op has to leave the cab and operate a plunger to get it to clear.

All S stock's are currently driven manually and there are no particular special limitations or things that don't work.
