Do any depots on LUL still do the days outing(pi$$ up)during the summer?Hainault used to have some great ones in the 70's.When I first went there they were going to France I didn't go but as we were on nights the day of the beano I was detailed to clock everyone in and hold the fort till they got back.Apparently it was a lively day outThree of the guys were so drunk that the Calais plod made them go back on the ferry and these weren't youngsters they were retired men in their 60's and70's!!Then the son of Jim Murphy(Ruilsip foreman)
