Just checked station closure lists and Mile End is on it and it's gonna be closed for a weekend.
How come the HC and District are not affected?

Last time this happened they just taped off the non-served parts of the island platforms

CrossRail work Whitechapel; track replacement work Mile End/Barking.
District Line suspended Aldgate East-Dagenham East
H&C suspended Liverpool Street-Barking (trains running to Aldgate)
Central Line non-stopping Mile End station.

Almost certainly to allow some sort of work to happen at the station without passengers getting in the way.
