Will they be valid on Crossrail seeing as it will be controlled by TfL?

towerman - if you mean RSTL passes, then on the precedent of those bits of the LU network that started life as BR services, then RSTL-issued passes will be valid at least between Reading and Paddington, and LST and Shenfield. If you mean TfLstaff passes then, presumably, the answer is yes - again the precedent isfor them to be valid on routes shared with National Rail services such as Amersham or Richmond.

Will they be valid on Crossrail seeing as it will be controlled by TfL? Short answer - haven't a clue as it's way too early if you mean Crossrail as in the line in a tunnel across London. Slightly less short answer - if you mean the Liv St - Shenfield line which TfL adopt in May this year then I'd expect TfL staff travel to say something in late April / early May. Ditto for West Anglia and Romford - Upminster being taken over by LOROL. Based on past practice then expect the validity to be extended. Long answer - when we get to 2018 and the real Crossrail starts opening then I think we could be in a different world. I'd be astonished if TfL Staff Passes stretch to Reading and they almost certainly will not be valid to Reading on the parallel FGW service. I also suspect there may be issues about access to Heathrow via Crossrail given the need to charge a premium fare. Finally there has been concerted pressure from Lib Dem and Tory Assembly Members to hack back the TfL Staff Pass scheme and, in particular, the Nominee Pass. Depending on which party controls City Hall after 2016 then if they are on a "slash and burn" or "reform TfL" agenda (either of these are plausible depending on party) then I would expect peripheral staff benefits and the pension scheme to be in the firing line. If there is a clear out of senior TfL staff after May 2016 (again plausible) then expect more change. There have been plenty of hints that these things are all in scope for change after May 2016. Oh and sorry to be so grumpy but I can see issues ahead.

TfL Staff have been advised that their Oyster Cards will be accepted on the TfL Rail services between Liverpool Street and Shenfield from 31/05/15 (plus the LOROL extensions over Lea Valley lines and the Romford/Upminster line).
