New plans have been announced linking the terminal platforms at Heathrow T5 to Langley in Slough. West Drayton and Iver passengers will miss out. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-31163002Whilst I am here, can someone tell me why no-one has ever suggested a rail link linking T4 and T5?

Would this scheme easily allow CrossRail trains to loop through via T5 on their journey between Hayes/Slough, ie. without reversing ?

Judging by the map here, I think so - looks like an end-on connection to the T5 platforms.

I think the high level of sucides/ Police investigations and other continual service interuptions between Reading and London would make most people think twice about using rail to get to Heathrow. First Great Western already provides a very poor commuter service so I will stay with a Taxi to the airport until there is a reliable service to Heathrow.
If a Heathow (Rip Off) Express service is provided to the West the Taxi will always win for me!

Piccadilly line is both cheap and reliable, or at least has been when I've needed to get to/from Heathrow!

Used Heathrow Express once, it was fine, and probably made the difference between making it back in time for work and not.. But normally I'd use the Picc...
