There seemed to be plenty of work going on at Ealing Common depot today (Sunday 11th) when I went by and it appeared that the entire site was under possession, with both entrances/exits declaring starts of possession. Also the Rail Gap Indicator was lit at Acton Town platform 3 (depot end, above the shunt signal).
So, as I'm sure you guessed, I just wondered what was going on? I noticed the train sheds have had a lot of work done, too, with a somehow slightly futuristic looking extension. (Not necessarily a nice extension, I hasten to add, but I guess function must ultimately precede form in these matters.) I take it the extension, at least, is to make a better fit for the S stock?

Its all to do with getting the equipment fitted so that work can be carried out on the trains.
