Central line is suspended all weekend from Holborn to Marble Arch due to works at TCR. Trains reversing west to east via British Museum siding. However, the points have failed there on three separate occasions today, requiring trains to be reversed at Liverpool Street.
These points have given problems in the past. Holborn is only used to reverse trains during planned works or to recover late running, but on several occasions after a train has reversed there, they have been unable to reset the route.
Is there a specific issue?
Marble Arch, on the other hand, has worked without a blemish today!

Not quite at Marble Arch - 15min delay at the start because of a loose connection from the signalling circuitry to the signalling equipment interface at Wood Lane. Other than that it was blemish free.

The delays at HOL yesterday were compounded by the stepping back drivers being in the wrong place.

The delays at HOL yesterday were compounded by the stepping back drivers being in the wrong place. Yes I can see that being a pain. I assume that they were double ending the train into the siding? If the next driver is not there to take over the train, do they just keep the sane driver on, then reform the train number?

The problems at Holborn were due to a defective relay.

I remember when i was a Signal Op at Liverpool Street there was a rusty rail move on Sunday mornings into the British Museum sidings and it nearly always had a points failure.
