Does anyone know what time the tubes are starting up a full service on New Year's Day please? Need to get from Stratford or Liverpool Street to Acton Town and be at Acton Town for 9:45 at the latest!
The TfL website is about as useful as the proverbial chocolate teapot, simply telling me a "special service" will operate on all lines. Thanks.

Central Line services from Stratford (Leytonstone-North Acton) will be running every 10mins from 0500-1100. Piccadilly Line trains Arnos Grove–Northfields will be running every 10mins 0430-1000.

Its basically a Saturday service from about 8am. I suppose you could book a staff taxi if your worried about being late for your book on.

When was the last time you used journey planner?
Since they made the new version mandatory it's barely usable. I tried to find out how long it would take from my house to South Woodford the other day. The route suggested was indeed the simplest (bus to Mile End, Central Line from there) but I wanted a rail only journey as that is cheaper on PAYG. So I told it not to use buses and after 10 minutes it told me it couldn't be done. I then tried from Mudchute (my closest station) to South Woodford and again it told me to walk to Island Gardens to catch the D7 to Mile End. Again I told it not to give me buses and again it said it could not be done.

I'm not sure I have any horror stories like that, but it often gives me non-intuitive routes, it seems unaware that Roding Valley to central London via Woodford requires a change at Woodford at the times of day I've inputted and is just a useless pain in the Christmas tree to use...

Looking forward to when the 'Avoid Zone 1' function becomes available.

Journey planner shows 0834 Central Line train from Stratford. Change at Holborn to arrive at 0924.
Next train 10 minutes later.

Works perfectly and gives routes via Bank, Stratford and Heron Quays/Canary Wharf.
