Hi, I was just wondering if anybody had any photos or diagrams I could look at showing the signals at Woodford, particularly the sidings. Basically, I wanted to use the area as an example and so I've been noting the numbers of the various signals and BMBs whenever I've gone by the area (quite fun, actually, but you have to be quick), but the far siding roads are too far away to see and it's hard to discern where the BMBs even are, much less their numbers, even if you happen to be fortunate enough to get a train to/from the bay road. If not, fair enough, but I was wondering if I could simply ask the number of the wrong-road shunt signal outside platform 3 controlling the mainline shunt move back over the crossover into platform 2. It's too difficult to see its identification plate as a passenger

Thank you hobbayne, that sounds pretty likely, since it's even and the signal controls a westbound move. Also, 7276 is the colour light signal on the W/B main outside platform 2, the 2 starters at the eastern end of the station are 7275 (platform 3) and 7273 (platform 2 wrong-road starter) and the 2 starters at the western end are 7266 (platform 2) and 7268 (platform 3 wrong-road starter). What's that emoticon?

Just another small one - how many routes are available from the shunt signal at the Woodford end of 21 road (WOO 7257 was the number I jotted down - is that correct?) I gather the main route (straight green) is for platform 1. Does the shunt then have 6 routes (platform 3 and the 5 sidings) or 7 routes (platforms 3 & 2 and the 5 sidings)?

A green takes you in the bay platform and route 1 into plt 3 and routes 3 to 7 into 22 to 26 road.

But no route to platform 2, or is that route 2? (Just checking, because I believe at Liverpool Street there's no route 1 on the shunt)

No. Why would you want to go into plt 2 when you can reverse back west via the bay road?

Thanks! Well, I mean, if a train failed in platform 3 you could work the Hainault service around it via platform 2. But, of course, you're quite right that it'd be a rarely called-for move. Thanks a lot for the information - very much appreciated Best go and make a small correction Edit: Of course, in the case of a faulty train in platform 3 - if a train was really needed to go to Hainault you could make one of the trains from Epping/Debden/Loughton into the Hainault I suppose and bring the one on 21 road that was meant to go to Hainault into the bay to take everyone west. Bit of a fuss, but then so is going the long way round. Besides, it's not like my little section of line should be a priority.
