As seems likely TfL will take over Silverlink Metro services in 2006,how about this for when S stock starts to appear on SSL.Electrify and resignal GOBLIN line to LUL standards run as a self contained line between Barking and Willesden low level using displaced double ended A stock units,as S stock takes over District replace A stock with double ended D stock units.Use Willesden TMD as maintenance base.Extend Bakerloo to Watford,if extra space needed at Stonebridge Pk,take over the old heavy repair shop to the west of the depot. If extra stock is needed for Bakerloo bring forward 72 TS replacement by a couple of years.

Where will you find the cash to resignal the NLL to fit the additional A stock services around the existing freight services, not to mention the need to electrify the relevant parts of the NLL with third rail and grounded fourth rail?

NLL is also going to TfL as part of Silverlink Metro. If Red Ken can find the cash for all these rubbish modern buses, finding it for rail projects shouldn't be a problem for a skilled political operator like him.
