i just wanted to ask if anyone may know:
what was the frequency of the metro service between shenfield and liverpool street from 1992 onwards, what i mean is that in which years did it change until it became the present every 10 mins service
I also note that the service was not always 8 cars as it is always now
If anyone know the frequency year by year until now, would be very much appreciated!

When I traveled on the line in the late 60's early 70's it was a twenty minute service, semi fast stopping at Romford, Ilford and Stratford supplemented by the stopping service from Gidea Park. At the time this level of service was quite adequate.

It's been every 10 mins off peak for approx 15 years now. Can't immediately recall anything more precise date wise, but initially (for a few years) only 4 out of 6 stopped all stations - 2 per hour ran fast between Stratford and Ilford.

A few years back (early 90's) there used to be a 20 minute service from Gidea Park to Liverpool Street calling at all stations. Back then, the Southend line trains ran every 20 minutes and called at all stations from Southend to Romford, then Ilford, Stratford and Liverpool Street. Both services used the slow lines.
