Hello everyone, Recently I have noticed that on a few zone 1 Central Line stations there is a digital clock with a circle around it, next to the front of the train (Not on the platform) Is this a design feature of Central line stations? Also, what is that "Beeeeep...beeeeeep....beeeeep" sound mean as the 1992 stock train leaves the platform (On the video?) Thanks to all .

The beep beep beep means it's time to go. There's a countdown timer in the cab and Wood Lane can adjust it to regulate a train in a platform - or get it moving quickly - if needs be. The beep beep beep means let's go, although of course you can't go just because you hear the chimes, you gotta do your platform duties before closing them doors.

Surely that gets on some of Central line drivers nerves? It would get on mine! I hope there is a way to disable the countdown timer.

a digital clock with a circle around it, The circle is about the size of the analogue clocks on other stations in the video - it could be simply that the digital clock has been put in a hole where the analogue clock used to be?

The digital clocks replaced analogue ones fitted during the 1980s /90s station modernisations. I'm guessing for ease of maintenance as their are no moving parts.

That helps a bit.

The countdown clock chimes tell you that you've spent the required dwell time on the platform and its time to close the doors, as the train is already moving whoever was in the cab closed the doors early.

Hi just a quick question regarding closing the doors early. Does Wood Lane monitor this or do they not mind drivers departing early wether it be from the terminal stations or middle of the line?

You can't depart early from terminal stations as the signal won't clear until the correct departure time.

Unless Wood Lane have taken manual control, surely? It does happen but rare as rocking horse poo so in general there is no leaving early from termini or any other of the timed control points.
