Hello everyone,
Does anyone here know when and where the last D stock train will be running? And the train number?
I know it may be a while until the day comes, but I know that the D stock will be replaced by the s7 stock completely one day.
Thanks to all.

Blimey! I think the answer to your questions are no and no! We don't even know which units will be the first to go, let alone the last! Of course some of us will have favourites which we will want to see soldiering on right till the end (cough cough 7080!) but I suspect that until we get into the last week of withdrawals proper, we won't know which will be the lucky units

Whatever happens, let's hope for a better send off than what the C stock got!

To confirm the first reply; its far too early for that question.
As stated, the first one to go isn't even known yet!

One fond memory I have of them is getting a good kip on them, on nights, when they were having their motors fitted, at Ruislip depot, in the early seventies. Nice to kip on clean seats for a change.

There's a few units I'd love to see get scrapped first, pretty much anything with feeble motors or brakes that are tragically weak, but there's a few unwell trains hanging around too. I really hope the last trains standing are the ones that work well and move / stop with reassuring urgency

The typical way these things go is that the long-term stopped units go first, then the order progresses through in roughly the same order as they last underwent maintenance - there is no point doing a 6-monthly exam on a train that has less than 6 months of service left if you have enough units in the fleet that haven't had that check expire. Units will get bumped up the order in the case of significant failures or damage while in service - it's just not worth spending the time, money or effort on repair.
