Was there ever a Picc line carriage map up in trains showing the extension from Hounslow West to Hatton Cross as under construction?

I don't recall one showing u/c only to Hatton Cross - the whole Heathrow extension was under construction at the same time, although it opened in two stages. There was of course a time when HX was shown as the terminus and HX to H123 as under construction: if I recall correctly the A1 connecting bus still ran from Hounslow West at that time

Yeah I already have the one you mentioned with the extension to HX as open & the section from HX as under construction with the A1 bus service running from Hounslow West at the link below: www.flickr.com/photos/94509615@N03/

Sorry i'm a bit late replying but i found this in the LURS archive, which doesn't answer the original question but shows a transfer to be applied to Line diagrams dated '6/75'. The transfer is in full colour under the backing sheet, as shown on pritpal's map:

On a side note a friend of mine sent me a jpeg of a sticker that was produced for the Picc Line back in 2008 just before the terminal 5 extension opened which shows the line from terminals 1,2,3 as a dashed line to terminal 5. Was this ever used in trains or was it just something that was produced but was never actually put up in trains? Picture at the following link: www.flickr.com/photos/94509615@N03/

Picture at the following link: www.flickr.com/photos/94509615@N03/I took early retirement in 2008(YES!!!!!!!!), and we used to have four quarterly meetings each year in Tavistock House, Bloomsbury. January's got cancelled with weather & I was excused boots in October, negotiating my exit! July's was normal, but have checked with my diaries for 2008 & April's was a right mess, starting with only me of the three of us from Plymouth getting the right train, so I made my own way to Tavistock House & didn't go our usual route;via Euston Square Tube, then to the hotel behind Euston mainline. Instead, I got off at Russell Square & walked up-only to find the bloody hotel booking had gone pear-shaped too. Sorry for the preamble, but it confirms for me-that jpeg your friend captured was used. Definitely saw one on a Piccadilly Line train (logical, eh?) between Kings Cross St Pancras & Russell Square in April 2008. Remember it as my Gran used to live at Hounslow & I was standing all the way for that one-stop journey & that's how it caught my eye. It looked like it had been plastered some time before; rather like some of the senior management in a previous part of my Civil Service career, but that has nothing to do with the Tube.

The line diagrams and any subsequent stickers used to be applied by craftsmen painters. In the days of paper diagrams they even got a coat of varnish.
Nowadays they are applied by contract staff.
This means that you may find odd cars without a particular sticker. It's very hard to track down and reach every train.
