I noticed today that there's an S7 stopping board at the Heathrow end of one of the South Ealing platforms. Is this for reversing in emergency situations?

Can't really reverse at South Ealing, was it on the westbound local. TUT's gut suggests it's for runs down to Northfields depot, though I thought they were done ECS so I could be wrong and am quite happy to be corrected.
There is a 'wrong-road starter' on the eastbound local at South Ealing, but I gather that that's because it doubles as LUL's test track, doesn't it? (Wrong-road starter is in quotes because I'm not sure whether that's really the right term, because I think in reality the line's probably reversible. Would be grateful for clarification, but I'm aware I'm gradually drifting off topic, I only bring it up because it does look, at first, as if that signal could be involved in a reversing manoeuvre at South Ealing, but I can't see any way you could reverse until you got to Northfields station).

There is an S stock chevron there in case a wrong route is accepted in error.
Please don't be too offended Tut but if you don't know the answer its best to leave it to those who do - we pride ourselves on good quality posts on this forum, not quantity!
