Have any S7 stock trains started passenger service for Upminster yet or are they still in 'trial mode' for Ealing Broadway / Richmond to High Street Kensington / Barking or are being tested?

None to Upminster yet, as the signalling immunisation Upney to Upminster was only completed at the end of August. One train is now available to run from Ealing Common depot in the peak-hours only, covering Ealing Broadway, Tower Hill bay, Wimbledon and Barking. The two driver training train are still available for Barking, Parsons Green, Olympia, Richmond.

There was no work done to the signalling between Upney to Upminster except modifying the newer track circuits at Hornchurch.

If so would you know the timings? I'd love to catch a Wimbledon/City S7 service when possible!

I think that it is train 121, which leaves Wimbledon at 0721 going to barking

Shift dependant, that would actually be the train I would need to get at some point anyway, so I could end up on it by happy accident, rather than needing to manipulate the situation to make it so! Cheers!

It was the train that I used to get - (almost) every school day from September 2008 until May 2013 - although back in 2008 I think it was a different number (I think it was 20?) but was still the 0721 departure from Wimbledon to Barking. I even always used to sit in the same seat every day unless someone had already pinched it - which I greeted by scowling at them - which was the single seat on the Left Hand Side of the train, towards the East/North End of the odd UNDM (or equivalent in a double ended set). I eventually stopped because I was getting bored of getting to school an hour early with nothing to do - and switched to a later service to Edgware Road - the fact that the C stocks were due to get dispatched shortly had nothing to do with it *shifty eyes*

The two driver training train are still available for Barking, Parsons Green, Olympia, Richmond. Hmm.....only available to the west end depots! Richmond isn't currently available to passenger service trains - its test trains only territory as per the current S stock operational restrictions document (version 39). Is there a target date for the first passenger service to Upminster? There is but it is subject to several things coming together at the same time. It is intended to run the first S stock in passenger service to Upminster in mid December though I'm not naming the exact date as nothing can be guaranteed at the moment. Three S stocks are to permanently replace 3 D stocks [out of Ealing Common depot] from the first week of January 2015 though this is subject to the major works at both Upminster & Ealing Common depots being completed, and in particular the status of driver training which will be halfway through at the last depot to be completed, Upminster. Once the initial Three are in, there'll be a gradual changeover from D stock to full S stock operation throughout 2015.

Your guess is as good as mine S stock has been to Richmond in service but has since become restricted to test train crew only. I gather its got something to do with speed limit signs and an issue with the platforms at Richmond. I can't be any more specific than that as I'm not privvy to exactly what the problems are.
