Reading the thread about replacing the 38TS on the IOW reminded me of a plan for the 83TS when it looked likely the Bakerloo was going to be extended back to Watford. The plan was to split the Bakerloo into 2 sections 1.Elephant-QPK/SPK operated by 72TS 2.QPK-Watford operated by 83TS converted to 3rd rail Needless to say it didn't get very far when it was pointed out that how were the 83TS going to get into SPK with no neg shoes & where were all these extra trains going to be stabled?

There was also a plan to use 1967 stock from the Victoria line as 6 car trains on the Watford to euston service at one point too. LO killed that off....

At the moment (i.e. as of last week) that is really unlikely. Unless anyone knows different.

if the plan to reextend the Bakerloo to Watford is carried out, where will they stable the extra trains? They could have built a new Croxley Green Depot!

With the met extended to Watford it is unlikely the Bakerloo will be especially with the fast train service to Watford ftom euston. The DC lines north of harrow could do with 4tph to encourage growth

If it ever came to be I believe there is room to extend Stonebridge Pk on the old railway land next door.

When Euston is redeveloped, surely the chances are likely to increase again? At that point anything that can be diverted away from Euston will be a blessing!
