Has anything changed on this section of track at all recently, specifically speed related.
I travel over this section most days, and in recent weeks it's felt like the trains are going much faster. You've barley left one station before you realise you're at the next! Particularly on the D-Stock it feels like you're being thrown about like nobody's business.
Has something changed or is it just me!?

Nothing has been done recently, it is planned to replace the track in one direction through Fulham tunnel but won't be this weekend.

Ah, OK, interesting thanks! I guess it's just me then, but I swear it's been feeling like a bumbier and faster ride!!

The view from FB towards WB used to be quite rural in the 1970s before they re-developed FB Station. A look along the track there saw the double track in a tree-lined cutting that could have been anywhere in rural England. The only give-away was the fourth rail. Happy days. I was born within sight and sound of Parsons Green Station!

I was born within sight and sound of Parsons Green Station! Grange Hill to Chigwell retains a similarly lovely appearance. I sometimes think if it weren't for the modern electrical equipment, you could almost imagine you were on a Victorian steam train. On-topic: West Brompton station is still quite gorgeous though, I think, it remains a pretty nice stretch of line that.

West brompton is rather nice, at least the DL side is. The NR platforms are now a mix of old 60s esque platforms and modern stuff as well. I'd also say that the line between just south of East Putney junction and the road bridge north of Wimbledon Park is quite nice, albeit with a fair amount of residential development either side

The bridge over the Thames is also fun, but the stretch on the viaduct to the east is a bit grotty

Slightly biased opinion, with it being my regular stretch of the line, but I think the whole Wimbledon Branch in general is a nice part of the District to travel!
Expanding the topic slightly... Being up on the viaducts is so much nicer than being stuck beneath the streets! It's also fun to travel on the NR section between East Putney and Wimbledon in SWT Stock from time to time (generally the very last SWT train from Waterloo through Wimbledon goes this way (from my experience)). The amount of people that get very confused can be quite amusing!

Has something changed or is it just me!? I think it mainly depends on the driver. Some will run at line speed through that tunnel, personally I don't, the state of the track is terrible and I prefer not to completely throw my passengers around. I wind up from WB up to about 25mph then coast down the hill and around the bend, it's still bumpy but not as bad. As I exit the tunnel I hit full motors and power up the hill to Fulham.

The tfl weekly email says that this weekend there is track replacement at Fulham Broadway, so looks like the poor ride quality will be cured quicker than thought

The tfl weekly email says that this weekend there is track replacement at Fulham Broadway, so looks like the poor ride quality will be cured quicker than thought The staff Traffic Circular for this period states "Putney Bridge-Parsons Green", although looking at the rails this morning Fulham Broadway-West Brompton is more likely.

I'm guessing that they would be reffering to the bit between Putney bridge station, and up to where it has been replaced so far (which I think is close to that new sand coloured building next to the EB road. I suppose the giveaway would be where the spare rails appear /have already appeared in the 4 foot tonight

...hey...some of us live in the fair amount of residential development...much of which, of course, is only there because of the railway and built up progressively since 1889 when the line opened.

To be fair, some of the residential development is quite nice. Big gardens, district line at the bottom of the big garden, conservatories etc. It is arguably an enthusiasts heaven. I've often thought that a webcam streaming footage of the railway would be quite good...

Sadly, my house isn't one of the ones that backs directly onto the line, so I can hear the trains but not see them...otherwise I am sure I'd have been happy to oblige...

It would seem that the track through Fulham Broadway WB has been redone, but not on the EB. It looked like this work has extended toward the tunnel, but I couldn't be sure. It also looked like the track through Parsons Green has been done, but I think that it was done before. Am I Missing out on some of the work that was done - It's difficult to see where track has been replaced when you are looking out of a window!
