Travelling through Rickmansworth this morning, I observed that new points linking 23 Siding with the northbound line have been installed over this last weekend of 31st May/01st June 2014. New trap points have also been laid at the exit from 23 Siding.
In addition, the trailing crossover linking the northbound and southbound lines just south of the station is being renewed. However, only the northbound line points have been replaced over this last weekend following the removal of the old crossover. This means there is currently no direct access from Platform 1 to the southbound line or to the South Sidings which will rather restrict the availability of movements until the work is complete.
Interestingly, none of the five trains stabled in the South Sidings over the weekend made it out this morning.

Although it is now possible to access / egress the South Sidings from the southbound line only, only two of the five trains stabled there over the weekend and through yesterday made it out this morning. The temporary absence of a crossover to directly access the northbound line from the South Sidings must be somewhat of a nuisance factor to resourcing with trains the start-up of the Amersham and Chesham Branch services.

The three trains that didn't make it into service from the South Sidings for this morning's peak were moved out during the day.
I guess the replacement of 27 Crossover will be completed during this weekend's possession?
