Weren't the Central line tunnels shaved a bit prior to the 92ts coming into service? I remember there being some weekend closures.

If people complain about trains not big enough, think again. Whoops! Don't they have standards for train dimensions?

This occurred in the 1980s on LU with the 1983 stock... Don't they have standards for train dimensions? RFF (the French equivalent of Network Rail) supplied the dimensions for the SNCF ordered trains. The problem was that they used specs which would clear upgraded platforms but not the 15% of platforms which haven't been rebuilt for decades.

Weren't there also some tight clearances on the 73ts when it was introduced. ISTR they had to remove some handrails to get the stock to within the loading gauge

ISTR the Northern line required some tunnel work for the 1995ts as well. Least they discovered the trains were too big *before* any incident occuring, unlike the District line..... :X

C stock used to swipe the island platforms between Barking and Upminster. Basildon platform was built too high for the slam door stock and delayed the opening of the station.
