The city bound shot is about the same place Jack Warner nicked a villain in "The Blue Lamp", kust outside White City, maybe, or is it on the Met somewhere? I suspect being a wartime photo it's "somewhere in south-east England".

I suspect being a wartime photo it's "somewhere in south-east England". I don't think it's near White City - the site in the Blue Lamp is on the "right hand running" section. The picture is evidently a four track section, possibly more. I understand that 1938 stock did not completely replace Standard stock on the Bakerloo until 1949, so I think it is somewhere between Wembley Park and Finchley Road - not technically City-bound as the Bakerloo doesn't enter the Square Mile! Could that be Neasden poower station's chimney breaking the skyline just ahead of the train? Another possibility is in the Northfields area. A signalling expert may be able to identify whether that rather nice lower quadrant distant signal is more likely to be on ex-District or ex-Met tracks.

The "outside" shot is actually labelled 'Chiswick Park'. From the curvature and the houses in the background I suspect the train is just crossing the bridge over Bollo Lane on the Eastbound Fast (Piccadilly) line. For those not aware of the configuration hereabouts, the tracks are, from North to South, EB District, EB Picc, WB Picc, WB District, and the westbound pair are slightly lower than the eastbound ones.

Further to mine above, purely by accident and quite by chance I was at Chiswick Park this afternoon, and I can confirm that the location is as I quoted above, the picture having been taken from the west end of the westbound district platform looking towards Acton Town. The repeater signal (now colour-light of course) is still in the same location and most likely on the same post and would most likely have been converted to a colour-light signal in the 1950s. It carries the number R627. I didn't have my camera with me, otherwise we could have obtained a 'then and now' comparison!

Yers, thinking about it later I thought Chiswick Park; it's the only place I know that's 4-track with a fairly sharp curve. You will all have to be shot...
