Whilst searching for Acton Depot, I came across this. Is this a Google Maps error, a local landmark, a nod to something historical, something related to the London Transport Museum or none of the above?

If you look closely, next to the pub on the corner it appears to be a building site. Put the little man on the Uxbridge Road and now next to the pub is a new build. It appears that the old tram depot has now gone. It was used recently as a bus depot, can't remember which routes or operator. Go to the LT museum web page, and in their photo section you might find photos of it in it's prime

It closed as a tram depot in the 1930s when the Uxbridge Road trams were replaced by trolleybuses and Hanwell depot was rebuilt and enlarged. For many years it was used by the Underground (as an engineers' store?). It reopened as a bus garage in 1990 (called Acton Tram Depot) and closed in 2008. It operated buses on routes 207, 427 and E3.
