I realise this has the potential to overlap with the thread from 2012 "Shenfield tracks into the city", and may be better off in RIPAS, but here goes.
1) Most off peak Southend trains (and I believe all in the evening peak?) currently run via platform 5 at Shenfield. Will this still be the case once Crossrail opens?
2) Let's assume you would have to run all down Greater Anglia trains via platform 3 at Shenfield. a) Could you achieve the desired journey time of 90 minutes Norwich to London based on the current timetable of 1 Braintree, 1 Clacton, 1 Colchester Town, 1 Ipswich and 3 Southends per hour if everything was going through platform 3, or would you have to use the bi-directional signalling of platforms 1 and/or 2, or even cut/reduce services? b) Brooks Newmark, MP for Braintree, wants to see a half hourly service for Braintree by introducing a passing loop at Cressing. If Norwich90 was implemented, could you send either or both through to London?

I can't find any proposed track plans for Shenfield and all the discussion at the top of a Google search about the proposed layout is quite old.
My understanding is that the viaduct is to be widened on the north west side turning platform 5 into an island. That would give scope for Southend bound trains to access the dive under from platform 4 but that is just conjecture. Continuing to use platform 5 would involve conflicting moves with Croossrail trains on platform 4.
I moved away from the area before the Metro services were introduced so I don't know how the station operates now. Certainly its a lot busier.

I assume that with a new platform 6 being built, this and the current platform 5 will be used for Crossrsil, with platform 4 becoming the additional down platform.
