I have to say that it's outrageous that LU plans to close all ticket offices bar 6. One marvels at the plans when seeing the queues at ticket offfices at stations such as Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Circus & Brixton.
The plans have been paused due to the strike action, however I doubt LU will do a complete U-turn on this issue
Nevertheless shouldn't customers be consulted- the ones who fund TfL -both through taxation and fares? Notwithstanding the fact that TfL reserves the right to effectively ignore the results of the consultation -e.g Cashless buses where 67% of Londoners disagreed with the proposals!

I think you answer your own question - if the powers that be have decided they wish to close ticket offices, a poxy thing like a consultation will not put them off. Either it would be written to give the answers desired, or ignored. Any letters, for example, to TfL about the issue will have received a stock reply which has been copied and pasted by somebody who doubtless has never been near a ticket office in their life.
If they wish to reduce ticket office staffing at quiet stations, I still don't see why they cannot be retained at larger ones. For example, whilst (say) all the little stations on the Barnet branch may not justify a ticket office open all the time, they could be kept open at (say) the busier stations of High Barnet, Finchley and Archway. But it isn't about customer service, it's about cutting budgets.

Still the thought of Oxford Circus without a Ticket Office is rather ridiculous!
