I'm about to build an R stock train formed from R38 motors and R47 NDM. What I can't seem to find any images of the ends of the cars. The R49 cars being aluminium alloy had anti collision bars running down below the sole bar. Did the R47 cars have these? I've seen a no4 position car at the coupling end with these pillars but did the other ends have them?
The train will be formed 21102-23202-23302-22677 anyone know why?

Sadly no dice! Even the R stock storey is not conclusive. Many of the photos are of R49 cars which were aluminium not steel.
