I do like how the RAIB seem to point out that if the builders had either used Google or rung Network Rail using the number printed on every bridge it would all have been avoided!

Actually they said that if future developers DID use Google or similar inaccurate (made up!) public maps, then this kind of incident would become all too frequent!

Yes, that was mapping. It was the Land Registry bit where nobody knew what the claim to the Subsoil by the railway co was, but Googling the name of the company provided three pages of hits saying they had evolved into the Old St to Hertford service.
