I see the 'benefits' of PPP are already taking place in that tublines and metromess have taken different ways and systems of implementing auto train operation that are not compatible with each other. So in the event of almighty cock ups on the Met/Wobbly or the District/ Picc one can have a total shutdown while to other sails merrily along. Why are we governed by such nutcases nowadays?

Well, maybe there will be a last gasp of commonality, and the SSL and Picc trains will at least be able to read each other's ATP. Besides, when things are up the wall, that's all you would need anyway, as I doubt running in ATO during a major cock-up would help matters...

Yup true. Metronet has a bit of sense and uses a simpler version with trackside leaky feeders and block joints, this allows enginneers vehicles to use the line. Tubelines are installing the system almost like the DLR with a cable running between the neg and running rail and no block joints so engineers vehicles, well who knows? So what happens in all the section were surface and tube use same lines or have to share in some circumstanes umm? Cables all over the place i suppose. Oh yea the Met will be the first subsurface line to have the new stock. Good luck
