I remeber last year we had a thread on this forum saying that they had filmed series 2 of the tube for the bbc but so far it has not been broadcast apart form that 1 hour special.
Anyone have any idea what is happening as I know they havent broadcast episode 6 of the routemasters either

Could be a whole number of different reasons. I don't know the exact reason, can only provide some examples as to what might be happening in the schedulers and series editor's offices. I won't list them all (as I don't know them all, and even if I did, I wouldn't want to bore the members of the forum to death!)
From memory, wasn't The Routemasters: running London's Roads being broadcast in the run up to Margaret Thatcher's death and then run up to her funeral? As we know, the BBC schedules went out the window from the day her death was announced, right up until the day (pretty much) after her funeral, with extended and extra news bulletins at every opportunity! BBC Two now need to find a place where they can put it back into the schedule without causing too much disruption to other planned programs. Bear in mind that TV schedules are finalised weeks, even months, in advance in the majority of cases. (Contrary to popular belief, channel controllers don't take the decision to change the schedule at the last minute lightly, even though it may seem the opposite!) Next 20 weeknights at 6:30pm from Monday are out for example, as that is Michael Portillo's Great British Railway Journeys. Christmas university challenge is nearly finished, but does anyone know how long the break is between the end of the Christmas series and the resumption of the "normal" series?
As to series 2 of The Tube, it's probably only just finished filming, given that last series was filmed over a year. But having said that of course, last series started being transmitted as they were finishing filming of later episodes in the first series (we discussed it on this very forum of course, remember it well), so even that argument doesn't hold much water.
Maybe those that have been involved in the filming of (either) series may be able to shed some light, as it could be of course that filming is running late for The Tube. I suspect that The Routemasters was finished months ago, and is just awaiting transmission, but may be wrong.

"the railways" which was also on the bbc a month or two after the last episode of the tube was played is set to be screened on Really (I saw a trailer for it a few days ago).
I do hope the production company/bbc release the TUBE on dvd as I am sure there will be those who would like to buy it.

I gather that the reason why the last episode of "Routemaster" hasn't been shown is that it includes a bit where a lady cyclist has an unequal argument with a bus and this is all caught by the TV crew and since there is a legal element, that [apparently very interesting] part of the film has temp.become sub-judice.

Arun Yes, probably best to let the storm die down from the recent spate of cyclist deaths before transmission and raising the subject again! That would explain the delay.

An episode of 'Silent Witness' was delayed for several months because it closely mirrored a criminal trial that was taking place at the transmission time.

DVD? I was hoping Blu-Ray but I guess the projected demand outweighs the cost of production. It's something though.

A bit of confusion here, as the DVD release by "Delta Home Entertainment" mentioned is for "The Underground" (BBC Series), whereas the BBC titled the 6 part series 1 "The Tube". I believe it is the same 2012 Blast Films TV series from 2012-13. interestingly the Australian release has a different cover:

There's potentially a rights/copyright issue. A previous series by ITV (also called 'The Tube') has also previously been released on Home Entertainment, so there's potentially an issue there.
Broadcast and Home Ent. are different ball games, so just because it's worked out for one, doesn't mean it is for the other.
I'm not saying that is the reason. I'm just saying it's a logical guess!

There was no Series 2 of 'The Tube'. Series 2 turned into 'Roads' (working title) which turned into the super long title they eventually gave it! (I know people that worked on the production).
