It will be interesting to watch this progress.
I love to see things being made.

This is the kind of thing I like following on here. A bit of creativity in miniature! As a new Grandpop (yes, Grandpop) I will no doubt be called upon at some point soon to resurrect what's left of my 45 year old Hornby train set for the little lad and any hints and tips from a pro will be really handy! Plenty of pictures please. Rich

I've finally been able to get some more work done on the layout. The poor weather has really held me back. I'm hoping to get this board completed by the end of the month. This board is a real challenge as it is curved. I have adopted a Barry Norman type approach and gone for the double beam method but used small 6mm blocks. The curve was created by starting at one end and gluing the internal blocks in a clamping shut before moving round to the next piece. Here it is still in the clamps but nearly dry. It feels solid! www.flickr.com/photos/25182511@N08/12703041215/

Yes I'd love to get Harrow down to the show. Hopefully next year it will be ready!

You and Nigel should work on your own "Croxley Link", perhaps calling it the "Xercman Curve" to connect your two layouts together at shows. Bung it on a viaduct and get some of your neighbours to stand there with placards protesting, just to add a bit of realism.

Good work on the curve board. This is a lot of work and, if you're like me would rather build rolling stock than layout, becomes a bit of a task at times. Especially the very tedious 3rd and 4th rail. Intervail is still progressing very slowly due to being distracted by other projects.

Quick update.... The third board is well underway now. This contains most of the point work for the board and represents the northern throat of the station with most of the reversing siding and crossovers. linkThe sides for this board are now finished and the internal supports and deck will be made hopefully next week. I've lined up the three boards together to provide a feel for the work completed so far.... linklink

Seeing those pics now makes all of your earlier posts suddenly make sense! I'm not used to curved baseboards really, can't wait to see more progress.

But say it I will- that is admirable - both for the amount of work you've had to put in and the quality of the finished product right through this project.

The third board is nearing completion. The frame is complete and the top made but not attached yet. Photos below. The next set of photos will hopefully show the three boards all assembled and joined, hopefully..... link

Just a quick update. Work is going well on the forth and final board however I (thankfully) decided to do some load testing on the stock I have built so far. It was here when disaster struck! The Tenshodo equipped A60 stock couldn't get up the southern approach slope!
This has created a hurried rebuild of the slope on the southern board. I am hoping to get this reworking and the fourth board completed in the next 6 weeks. The next step is to build the fiddle yards which are fitted with cassettes.
Then tracklaying can begin.....

Do you plan to show the layout at the museum depot when complete? I am interested to see it in person
