In this era of cost cutting etc why has LUL seemed it necessary to change our uniforms I have seen the three concepts and I think that they are all a waste of money plus they all look disgusting.

I'm just a punter with no sense of fashion, but those designs don't give me the impression of what I expect from a transport worker's formal uniform.
I want staff to wear something that will stand out from crowd and project competence and authority in a crisis and a safe, reassuring presence at routine times. The multi-pocketed jacket says things like "photographer", "tradesman", "fitter". The mutli-coloured t-shirt is decidedly casual, and all the rest shouts that it's smart-casual attire for an evening out with friends.
Also, I do have to wonder at the merits of spending money on new uniform designs when TfL is constantly complaining it has no money. I'd prefer more buses than fashionably dressed staff.

Just be grateful they have not gone the 'what things will be like in the 21st century' route and dressed you all in one piece figure hugging jumpsuits!

I really dislike the roundels being out of horizontal. On with the motley!

A hood would never have been allowed in the past because it restricted hearing. In the drawings I noticed a female Muslim head covering, would this be allowed due to impeding hearing.

The first one conjoures up images of the Britpop scene in the mid nineties...
But seriously, what's wrong with the current uniform? As long as its worn properly I think it looks fairly smart. There is a slight "safety critical" element about this too, suppose theres an emergency and LUL staff clad like members of a blur tribute band turn up, will people even take them seriously!? The uniform should be professional, simple and smart so the public can quickly identify someone in charge should they need to. IMO they should keep the current uniform but perhaps smarten it up a tad.

At least we're being asked what our uniform should look like.
In the past, it's been 'this is it, get on with it'.
The worst uniform we've had in recent years was the one back in the '80s with the detachable arms. That was absolute rubbish!

The "Bold" section is abysmal!
I'm glad that there is no mention of the hats.

In this era of cost cutting etc why has LUL seemed it necessary to change our uniforms? ... Probably the same reason that e.g. King's College London is set to spend three times more on rebranding itself "King's London" than would be needed to develop a drug to treat Alzheimer's; the management are a bunch of total muppets who don't know any better and are still convinced of the ridiculous 80s concept that you can buy customers with something other than good service, which to be honest, was the best piece of marketing trickery that has ever been pulled off. Advertising, I can get; marketing and branding is all ball hooks. Anyone with a marketing degree should be dragged out of their office and tied to the live rails. Or put in the middle of a bunch of irate customers with freshly ground axes and told to rebrand their way out of that. And the uniforms... I like the gillet, and I'd wear that out for an evening! But the rest are awful - truly dreadful.

I'm an EX LUL employee. I think the above are absolute C**p, As others have said what is wrong with the current style just needs a bit of a tweak. As for the uniform of the 80's with the detachable sleeves I thought the padded coat with the detachable sleeves was very good. Although station staff weren't supposed to wear them. However I managed to get one and thought it was a great idea.
