Hi Sam,
Yes, a great day indeed, and I'm sure we'll get another one sorted in the not to distant future.
Thanks to all of you you came along and it was indeed great to put faces to names!
A few interesting ideas came out of it, so watch this place - more news and announcements will follow in the not too distant future I'm sure!

*yaawwwnnn* So tired. Got home about 11:45, just enough time for a drink (the non alcoholic type) then on to bed. Had a good journey back - there were all of four people in the same carriage as me, so I didn't need to upgrade to First class to avoid the noise! I've stuck both cameras on charge, will take a look in the morning. Or very possibly, the afternoon. Should be some interesting stuff on there! It was great meeting everyone - hope y'all got home safely.

Yes was very good, albeit very short for myself and Jono. I am looking forward to the next meet!

Yes, was loadsa fun! Can't wait til next time. Though a couple of points I'd suggest for next time : - Get a decent map reader (Only kidding Chris !)
- Find a pub closer to a station
- Find a pub which is not affected with aquaeous tidal complication scenarios.
I'm glad to announce though my feet are now dry! Good to meet you all, I'll try to be more awake next time!

I've just arrived home, had a good journey but had to wait 59 minutes at Paddington for a train after nearly 10 at Earls Court (everything was going to Upminster). Managed to get some sleep after Didcot when the two geordies having a conversation accross the table from each other at a volume that meant everyone in the "quiet" carraige could hear every word left.
Thank you to all of you who came, it was a great meet (once I managed to get there). It was great to put some faces to names, but I'll wait and see how many I actually remeember when I come to sort my photos!
I agree that a pub next to a station would be handy for the next meet.

I'm glad all went well - if there's another meet in october, I would love to come. As I said in the final arrangements thread, ill health prevented my attendance this time, but I should be sorted by then.

Had a great time despite the fact that I had to go to work therefore was only drinking Coke!
Brilliant to meet those of you who were there, and thanks to chris Jolly for coming to meet me at Gunnersbury station... I'd never have found that place on my own! On that theme, I'd also agree with having somewhere a bit closer to a station next time! ;D
That taxi I got back to Acton was a seriously dodgy driver. My confidence was immediately dented (as was his car) when I'd got in the car and he reversed straight back into one of the car park bollards, presumably damaging the back of his car, then he drove off as if nothing had happened! He was swerving in and out of other traffic all the way back - talk about a white knuckle ride!
Anyway, I enjoyed myself and hopefully next time I'll have more time and be able to sup a lager or two!

Just woken up as dead earlies (and 3 days drinking) finally caught up with me. Good to meet those who were there. Was a good day. Look forward to the next meet.

I too thought it was a great meet. Lets hope we have many more in the near future! I'm glad practically the whole forum went and 1 or 2 members were missed out haha. I don't like your attitude FWIW, I don't like yours either. You've no right to complain about other members' attitudes. It's yours that ruins the positive atmosphere of this forum.

I agree it was an fabulous day and was good to meet everyone that could make it yesterday - can now put a few faces to names.... hopefully these will be even more at the next meet.....
The first "District Dave train-spotting tour" was great fun..... ;D ;D ;D
Please thank your colleague on the District Line for giving us all a laugh on the way back to Earls Court Dave.... for those who don't know what I'm referring to, the TO announced the route of the train and then that District Dave's training spotting tour was on board as well.... ;D ;D

Great day out. Great photos Chris. Well done for organising it Chris J. Nice to see Dave without a cat on his shoulder. Great to meet Q8. Got home to find my son had blagged a cabride all the way from Norwich to Ipswich in a Cl 90- (how does he do it?)

The Pub Meet was absolutely excellent! ;D I do hope more future meets will be just as exciting and fun as this one! Get a decent map reader (Only kidding Chris !) I'll screw my head on next time... ;D ------- I didn't want to be featured in any Photo's as I'm not a very Photogenic Person (and I'll break your lens. ;D), but Photo's I am in I've had my face blanked out... (Cheers Chris ;D) Please thank your colleague on the District Line for giving us all a laugh on the way back to Earls Court Dave.... for those who don't know what I'm referring to, the TO announced the route of the train and then that District Dave's training spotting tour was on board as well.... ;D ;D LOL! That T/O was absolutely brilliant at that announcement! ;D Did anybody get a recording of it? ;D

Intresting photos. None of you looked as expected. (Though i did even try to picture my imagainery faces in drag!) Anyway, i'll keep an eye out for antharro next time i'm in Bournemouth. Any usual haunts to narrow down my search? Spearmint Rhino, by any chance?!

None of you looked as expected. Is that good or bad? BTW, what do people think of Mr Jolly's new identity? ;D (CLICK)

Brilliant Photos Chris, thanks for sharing them with us all. Indeed - great photos Chris. A few caption corrections needed, but we'll sort those in due course David - hopefully you'll be able to join us for the next one. To whoever mentioned it, yes I'll thank the Antipodean Train Operator who conducted us to Turnham Green the next time I see him. To Chris J - none of us like how we come out in photos - nearly as bad as when you hear your own voice Here's to the next one - I suspect that there'll be a return match!

Gents,
Glad you all had a good time! All those of us (self included) who couldn't make it are hoping there will be a 'Forum Meet 2' so that we can come along too.
(If there is, I will have to try to sweet-talk my friend who lives in London so I don't have to spend all day travelling!)
Maybe we need a caption competition for the 'patio flooded' photos....
Excellent pictures Chris.

Thanks again to Chris for the pictures, It's nice to see what some of you look like - I have to say Q8 surprised me the most, not the face I had in mind at all!!

This is what happens to Geordies when they go south, I think it's the beer that does it!
