I'm not sure if this is the right places, I'm on train number 21031/32 and the doors don't bang close (they slow down then stop), is this a fault with this train or will it be like this on all S trains?

I don't recall seeing this on any other S stock, so it's probably a defect (was it true of all the doors or just one set?), but on the other hand, the 09 stock do actually do this, not that the doors they use seem much alike those on the S.

It was the same on at least 2 doors on the other side of the train from each other

I travelled on 21325/21326 this afternoon and every door in the unit was like this - much better, a lot less noise, and the doors didn't seem any slower to close. 21333/21334 in the morning was not exhibiting this. Is this a modification going to be rolled out to the rest of the fleet? |

I've seen in on a few S7s which makes me think that it is a modification.

Has anybody noticed on some S8 trains the doors are opening and closing a bit more gently? One of the many things I hate about these trains is how the doors burst open and slam shut. Has there been any work done to quieten them or are they simply wearing out already hee hee!

There was something about this in the Circle and Hammersmith thread regarding the same thing happening with the S7's. It therefore seems like this is a fleet wide modification which is currently underway.
