17:39 at Earl's Court today - C Stock train arrives platform 4 with Wimbledon indicated on the front, and full of people, even fuller once the rest of us had all climbed on, but the platform indicator said Olympia, and after a short conference with the powers that be, it was confirmed that it was indeed supposed to go to Olympia so we all climbed out and off it went round the corner with about 3 people on board. What was all that about ?

With £Zillions spent on technology now, it seems there less less accuracy than 50 yeas ago when the motorman operated a roller blind or put a wooden slat on the front of the cab at the beginning of every journey.
Don't tell me why this is, l already know the real answer

I suspect that the example southfieldschris gave us may be something to do with the driver running out of hours, doing the trip to olympia to allow his replacement to get back in place, or to stable? But usually if this is the case, the driver will make an announcement to that effect. Going of on a slight tangent I once had a train arrive at Fulham Broadway displaying "Putney Bridge" on the front and Wimbledon on the DMI on the platform. This was just after another Putney Bridge train (but described as Putney Bridge on the DMI as well) so I asked the driver "Is this going through to Wimbledon" -"Yeah, Why do you ask" -"It says Putney Bridge on the front" -"Ah, so it does". And castlebar, I'm not sure, but is the answer those peasky planners?

It looks as if the driver forgot that TTN198/12 (exhibition service to Olympia) was in operation today, as the 17:25 ex-Edgware Road is scheduled to be an Olympia train on this working.

If there are delays regardless of what stock it is the train will be rerouted to re-adjust the timetable, lets say that driver is half hour late they can send him to olympia and itll reduce the journey by 45 and hold him for 10 mins to catch up. Ive seen c-stocks even go to ealing broadway when there was problems there
