Since it's been a while since I last updated everyone on the Piccadilly route, I thought I'd post a few screenshots. piccbve.co.uk/picc_shots.htmI know progress has been very slow this past couple of years, this is owing to other commitments. I now have more time and am hence spending more time on this route. Comments appreciated, Tom.

Looking good Tom! I know I speak for many more people, when I say that I'd much rather a route took a fair amount of time, and it was very good, than a route that took no time at all, and isn't a realistic representation.

Oh Tom!! Far more than nostalgia - more close to homesickness!!! Wonderful capture of the reality of Oakwood!

Thanks to all those who've commented.
The lift issue raises an interesting point. When you try and do something like this which invariably takes a few years, when do you base it? You can't really fix a date, as you do different bits at different times, so your reference material differs. This raised its ugly head in a previous release when a few weeks before the release, a speed limit changed - as I didn't know this, I didn't incorporate it, so I got stick for calling it "Based in 2005"...
Cockfosters trackwork meanwhile remains a b***h. However the trackwork and platforms are currently being improved by Stephen Cross.

At the rate they're going, it'll take them a couple of years more to finish the lift...
Okay, I jest. But the date has been pushed back a few times now, I gather.

Last time I passed through there (late December) it was sealed off with an "OUT OF ORDER" notice or somesuch. I think there were some construction barriers knocking around upstairs as well.

I like it, I recognised the images immediately having done signal maintenance there and indeed walked the track many times.

I think it's actually "Lift Not In Service" based on the last time I went through, which was probably last week, maybe the week before. I haven't actually been into the station building for.. probably months now, actually. Now that they finally have fixed the OPO problems they rarely need reserves up there!

Oakwood has a lift! Well that's news to me! Its either been that long since I last went through, or I am completely ignorant... ;D

I passed through the ticket office at the end of December when I was up there, though don't worry, I didn't upset the SS .

Oakwood has a lift! :o Well that's news to me! Its either been that long since I last went through, or I am completely ignorant... ;D :) As you can probably gather, it's not in service yet, they've been doing work on it since shortly after I joined the company - they started roughly around spring last year, I think. The actual lift shaft, lift (presumably!!) and passage in place. One of the estimated completion dates I heard was the end of January, so it may be coming out any day soon - of course, there may be lift training to complete for the staff first, because none of the stations on our groups have lifts of any sort. Well, until now, anyway!
