I hear from MRFS42 that our lil 38s (00 size) have arrived, woo hoo! (Although i have to admit, I gushed a bit and told him not to let me near them as they're prolly so cute I'd want to hug them. ;D) He's decided on a layout and we're going to call the station Hobbs End. I'm sure he'll pop up soon to fill in further details. Suffice it to say that I'm off to the model train fair which conveniently is a) in Canterbury, b) in two weeks' time, and c) has MetroModels displaying 'Abbey Road' there. Yay!

Ah, it's true I'm afraid. ;D ;D Decided to spend the money I'd been paid by York Museum 'wisely' 3 x 4 car EFE tube models: 38ts Picc (Uxbridge); 38ts ELL (Whitechapel); 62ts (Central) Epping - Ongar. All double-spudded in one DM per set by Mr. Polley. (excellently rapid service - delivery time a fortnight +/- a day or two, not bad considering most of the world has been celebrating 'The Festival of the Merchants'). I've spent the afternoon taking out the steel springs instead of painting a steam engine (Thursday = boss day off = staff lounge). [1] Layout 'should be' reminiscent of NC in latter days. [1] I did make the time up later.

No, one DM in each set has two motors (both Tenshodo - hence double-spudding). I can confindently predict some fun on the horizon.

Angelislington is the one with a camera - I borrow hers for quiz photos - however I'm under strict instructions to send her a photo this evening (I've gotta try and make my telling bone talk to the 'pooter) so I'd better arrange the stock and do that now! ;D

I've been building T stock tonight!! My first A60 set should be painted by next week! I do like the EFE trains although the new East London set is in the wrong colour I think? I've see photos of the 38ts on the East London Line in bus red!

MARC models do reasonable prices for EFE 38 and 59 stock trains. They also do C69/77 and (B,C,D,E) H stock!

An Update: Having spent part of the day painting red and grey lines on one of those steaming engine charioteering kettles and the other part of the day doing more UndergrounD things, I can confess to making my model 62TS filthy. Really filthy too - used genuine muck from some steaming heap from 1865 to give a certain 'depth' to the weathering. I daren't touch the two 38TS - angelislington might disown me...... Well, if you work in a paint shop [1] , you might as well use it. [1] some of the time.......

I did get a 1962 stock trailer car a few years back that was slightly damaged but instead of fixing it I decided to weather it give it window etching and cover it in graffiti
