Hi again! I was traveling on the Central line WB, yesterday. Boarded at Liverpool street and the train continued quite normal until we reached St Paul's. At St Paul's the train stopped but the doors did not open. They remained closed for about 2 or 3 minutes and as I was in the first carriage, I heard a lot of clicking around in the cab. Finally the doors opened. There was no DVA Announcement. The doors closed and I could straight away feel that the train was in CM. It pulled away much slower and entered Chancery lane at a very slow speed and I could feel the driver fanning the brake, not something what ATO would do. The train contined this way until Holborn at What point there was more clicking in the cab, and then I could feel the train was back in ATO. Everything after this was normal. What did happen? The DVA was working as normal after St Paul's. Was this an overrun?

You do get overruns in ATO on the Central but they're rare. Don't know why it would have taken 2-3 minutes to open the doors unless there was a serious fault on the door system. The TOp should have made a PA to inform the passengers that there was a problem to stop them pulling down passenger emergency alarms and I’m surprised that the Line Controller didn’t call up to ask why there was a delay.
Don’t know what PM is we have Restricted Manual, 15kph maximum, or Coded Manual, line speed with ATP but no idea why the TOp would use Manual for two stations rather than switching back to Auto after one.

I agree, I could hear the driver keep moving around the cab so maybe it was, there was no PA Announcement what I was surprised at apart from at Chancery lane where the driver said mind the doors, he said nothing about the delay. And that's what I found as well he never switched it at chancery lane maybe he never had time because of the large delay And yeah sorry!! That's what I mean, CM I will edit that thank you when I got off at marble arch I looked down the tunnel and the next train was already waiting, on a Saturday morning, so it must have caused a delay.
