Recently I've noticed 92ts are getting worse and worse with motor reliability.
Currently on 92454 and the current West end of this unit has a motor out.
Last week I was also on a train that had a one or more motors out.
Get your act together LU!

Jeez! Give the poor souls a break! I mean, any 20 year old train that has just gone through a fairly extensive refresh can't be expected to run without some problems!

I'm waiting for someone to tot up the total expenditure on the fleet thats been spent on the new body panels, windows, bogies, etc, just so we can work out whether the losses should have been cut by now...

If the 09 stocks would fit and could be fitted with the 92's ATO (I have no idea on either count) then that might have been a worthwhile investment. They'd have a job convincing people of the benefits of the much smaller windows though.

The Central line has a higher positive rail because of its tunnels' odd shape resultant from enlargening. They'd be hard pressed to get anything much bigger down there than currently, I would have thought...

Performance feels the same for the train even if one set of motors is out so does it really matter ?
On rare occasions a lorol 378 may lose one set of motors but providing the remaining sets boost their power, there is only a slight difference and in any case a combination of being overpowered and low speeds means it makes little difference.
But for main line services it can be a problem!

I thought the Central Line tunnels were up to seven inches out of true, before the late 1930's exercise to straighten the alignment. This, though still left the original tunnel section un-usable by 38TS due to the high positive rail position. It wasn't the enlargement process that caused the high positive rail location, just the poor original tunneling . .

Maybe 3M have some nice red sticky tape to fix the motors XF

But for main line services it can be a problem! Certainly didn't with the 92ts' I was on! It may well have been more than one but it was definitely noticeably more sluggish pulling away. I think it matters anyway even if performance isn't affected because it's not good having a train that doesn't work properly.

That's very true but surely it is better having a train in service with a set motors out than having no train available at all?

That's very true but surely it is better having a train in service with a set motors out than having no train available at all? Not if it can't keep up, and delays all the other trains on the line
