DLR WTT

Since downloading the DLR working timetable CSV files loaded onto the website of What Do They Know following a Freedom of Information request, I've been trying in my spare time to pull together some information. My intention is to come up with full timetables but in the meantime, can I 'entertain' you with the table at the bottom of this e-mail which shows where and when each train starts from and ends up during the course of the day and on what line(s) they work on and which run number(s) they use.

Most trains start at either Beckton or Poplar Depot and end up at a station close to one of them (but not necessarily the one that they started out at that morning), though some allegedly start/end at various other stations with no indication on the source data from which Depot they may have started from or return to. As I mentioned in a previous post, the last journey for one train is from Lewisham to Deptford Bridge but I've no idea why it only does that short section of route in service or what happens to the train after that.

Some trains stick to the same line and running number throughout the day (they all do on Saturdays and Sundays) but those trains on Line 15 (Bank to Lewisham via Avoiding Line) that are out after 9pm switch to Line 14 (Bank to Lewisham via West India Quay) and switch running numbers from 201+ to corresponding 101+ numbers, so for instance the train using Run Number 204 will switch to 104 after 9pm, 207 becomes 107 etc.

Stratford International trains switch between corresponding 801+ and 401+ numbers depending on whether they are working to Woolwich Arsenal (peak times) or Beckton (all other times).

Stratford to Lewisham trains that stay out after the morning peak (501 to 503) become Stratford to Canary Wharf trains 626,622 and 624 respectively.

Hopefully that explains this table so that even Boris Johnson can understand it but please let me know if I can make it clearer or if you have spotted any mistakes.
