I wanted to post this yesterday but there were hosting issues My thanks to whichever member of staff at Golders Green is responsible for the daily philosophy quote on the whiteboard - much appreciated Unfortunately age is not the best friend of memory and although I remember yesterday's was from Plato, I have forgotten what it said... Is there any possibility of their being copied onto this Forum? Perhaps one of the moderators has a contact at the station?

Yup.. I'm pretty sure it was "good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others" - which by Plato's standard is pretty banal, doubtless why I needed help in recalling it.
Even with a Freedom Pass, I'm reluctant to go to Golders Green (from Royal Oak/Bayswaer) on the six days a week I don't just to read a whiteboard...

Maybe next time you're at Golders Green, you ask which member of staff is responsible for the words of wisdom on the whiteboard and tell them about this forum.

I work on the Group of Stations which covers Golders Green I will Pass on your comments to the Duty Station Manager for Golders Green Best way is to go online to www.tfl.gov.uk/contact and select the "Say Thank-you Option" as this will be published onto the weekly commendations list for all staff to see

Not impressed with the Contact feature on the tfl website. Sent three or four messages to London Buses and received the generic acknowledgement almost instantly, but never once received an actual response to my complaint. Complaints have included unauthorised deviation from route (taking a short cut), half empty bus in service speeding straight past a white stop where several of us were waiting, drivers on one particular route being frequently late to take over a bus. I'm starting to hate First London.

Complaints have included unauthorised deviation from route (taking a short cut). Wow; you'd think that that would be at the very top of the list of 'Don'ts' for bus drivers. But perhaps the driver was avoiding roadworks/road closure/etc.

It is possible they were avoiding road works, but surely that would have been advertised, or if it had only just suddenly closed, I'm sure a PA wouldn't have gone amiss (I am assuming you can get PA's on buses)

Complaints have included unauthorised deviation from route (taking a short cut), half empty bus in service speeding straight past a white stop where several of us were waiting, drivers on one particular route being frequently late to take over a bus. I'm starting to hate First London. My outer London 477 was late-ish, so he went the quick way to Orpington after it had entered London. However, this was agreed with all passengers on board (including me. I said I was for the Stn.) But First London? Where do I start? Rude drivers at times. But one friendly driver... By the way, buses don't have to stop at white stops unless people are waiting, so it makes no difference if it is Request (red) or plain "compulsory" (white) stop these days... Fact is though, driver missed your stop when bus is empty so that is wrong. There is PA on buses nowadays.
