On www.railphotoarchive.org/tag_search_1.php?Tag=londontransport, three pictures can be found of a battery locomotive and two 1938? stock cars passing the diesel sidings at the end of Kings Cross NR station where, as a 14 year old, I spent many happy hours loco spotting. Does anyone have any information about this and what was going on?

Northern City Line stock transfers Neasden to Drayton Park, which ran from October 1970 until October 1975. The 1938 Stock was in 3-car units M-T-M.

Got a shot of a stock transfer in the other direction passing the York Road platform at Kings Cross July 1971. One of those lucky shots when I was seeing of relatives heading back to Yorkshire that day and the transfer happened to be going past - quick sprint up the platform! www.flickr.com/photos/24315579@N08/8419899360/in/photostream

Just asking, in the photo by dennis, is that an 8mph speed limit sign in the photo? If so, is that usual in any rail network?
