My friend had this picture on his twitter, i thought it was Ladbroke Grove and he said he wasn't sure he thinks it was South Ken. Any ideas as i really cant place the station: Sorry for posting a link, but i cant work out how to post photos direct on here. Edit by Londonstuff. Ask and it shall be done. All with an img tag ;D

All I can say is that Ladbroke Grove doesn't have buses to Heathrow Airport direct, definitely. And it shows buses to Ladbroke Grove. So, it couldn't be Ladbroke Grove. South Kensington Station doesn't have any buses to Oxford Circus AFAIK and Heathrow buses stopped many years ago.

Are there buses to Westboiurne Park Road from there? I was thinking it was High Street Ken Buses from Queensway - there isn't any to Heathrow. 70 (AFAIK) goes to Ladbroke Grove/Westbourne Park High Street Kensington is a plausible conclusion. I do not know if it is correct though. 52 goes to the Ladbroke Grove area. 9 (used to, but many signs haven't changed) go to Piccadilly, whilst 10 goes to Oxford Circus. N9 goes to Heathrow.

High Street Kensington is a plausible conclusion. The one small problem being that it doesn't look anything like HSK.

It looks a bit like Edgware Road, though.

It is plausible from the buses and destinations. It looks a bit like Edgware Road, though. Yet buses do not go to Heathrow from there. Unless it refers to it via Paddington NR?

Holland Park?
Sign buses towards Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus.
Airbus A2 used to stop just before the Shepherds Bush roundabout

I think Queensway is a contender matches - the 'square honeycomb' sort of ceiling the twin CCTV display screen the pillar (extreme right of original photo) that's brownish colour and white-ish above matches - the blanked off archway sort of thing above the exit door As for bus routes, the bus to Westbourne Park Road / Ladbroke Grove would be an exact match for the 70 the Heathrow Airport could be for the A2 (withdrawn 1999) I take it we don't know when the original photo was taken?

I can confirm that it is Queensway, had to pass through on way to work and sure enough the sign was in the ticket hall.
I am surprised if the Heathrow service was withdrawn in 1999 the sign hasn't been changed.

I notice on Google StreetView that Coach A60 stops there although I'm not able to find any information on where that goes.

the Heathrow Airport could be for the A2 (withdrawn 1999) How did I forget the A2!! (hits head on table!) Slight thing - it was withdrawn in 2004, as shown by The London Bus Page www.londonbuspage.com/050101.htm

oops. I misread something last night. The A1 route Airbus ceased to be in 1999, not the A2. re A 60 service - I can find some vague references on the web to Snowdrop Travel service A 60, Earls Court - Central London - Stanstead Airport - reference here - www.plannedtravel.co.uk/london/earlscourt2.cfm - although SE Traveline and TfL journey planner don't seem to know about them, and they don't have a website, so they / this service may or may not still be functioning.

re the A60 - I can't find any trace of it either in the current website listing all London bus timetables (inc the non-TfL ones, and going as far afield as the Bakers Dolphin service to Weston) or in the bus timetable graveyard (same coverage). Quite possibly one of these startups that never did. Google steet map is not known for its accuracy!

Google steet map is not known for its accuracy! G AFAIK, the bus stop does show the A60 stops there (last checked early Jan 2013), whatever that route is. So it seems to be that TfL bus stops have not removed it, yet...
